Washington, EU.- El Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos, descartó hoy la presencia deorganizaciones terroristas conocidas operando en territorio de México, luego de presentar su reporte sobre terrorismo internacional 2014, donde también descartan «erróneos reportes de prensa» sobre el tema.
De esta forma, al presentar dicho reporte, la administración Obama rechazó que exista evidencia de que organizaciones terroristas tengan como blanco a ciudadanos estadounidenses viviendo en México.
«El gobierno mexicano se mantuvo vigilante contra amenazas terroristas domésticas e internacionales en 2014″, se puede leer en dicho reporte.
De acuerdo con el reporte presentado, el gobierno de México aprobó enmiendas a su Código Penal Federal, mismos que ayudaron a fortalecer el marco del país para confrontar actos de terrorismo, incluido el financiamiento a actividades terroristas.
También señala que el Departamento de Estado proporcionó al gobierno mexicano, a través de suPrograma de Control de Exportaciones y Seguridad Fronteriza (EXBS), equipos para uso en puntos de cruce, puertos y aeropuertos.
El equipo de inspección no intrusivo y otros aparatos de detección buscan apoyar a México en sus capacidades para identificar el movimiento de narcóticos, divisas, armas, bienes y migrantes.
