El Chelsea se coronó campeón en la Premier League de Inglaterra esta campaña, y el más ovacionado del plantel en su último compromiso ocurrido el fin de semana pasado ante el Sunderland, fue su legendario delantero Didier Drogba quien fue sacado en hombros por sus compañeros.
Drogba, quien es un ídolo para el club de Londres y para la Selección de Costa de Marfil, señaló que quiere seguir jugando a pesar de sus 37 años de edad pero que lo haría en otro club.
“Para poder jugar más fútbol siento que me tengo que ir a otro club. Quiero jugar por lo menos otra temporada”, dijo el máximo goleador de la selección marfileña.
Según reportes desde Inglaterra, específicamente del rotativo The Telegraph, Drogba tendría interés en fichar con el New York City FC, aun cuando el reporte del diario no pudo afirmar que hubiera alguna oferta realmente hecha por el club neoyorquino.
Lo cierto es que el delantero africano que se proclamara Campeón de Europa con el Chelsea en 2012, sería de gran ayuda para los Citizens, quienes apenas suman un triunfo en 12 partidos y que tienen una escuálida cuota goleadora que promedia menos de un gol por encuentro. Un posible fichaje de Drogba ayudaría en demasía al solitario David Villa en la delantera.
