Alejandro G. Iñárritu, ganador de tres premios de la Academia por su cinta «Birdman», dedicó su premio a mejor director a los mexicanos radicados en ambos países.
Emocionado, quizás respondiendo a la broma de Sean Penn sobre su «green card» (tarjeta de residente), el multipremiado director mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu dedicó su premio a mejor director a sus paisanos.
«Quiero dedicar este premio a los mexicanos que viven en México y a los que viven en Estados Unidos, que ayudaron a construir esta gran nación de migrantes», señaló el director.
Además de recordar a sus colegas mexicanos Guillermo del Toro y Alfonso Cuarón, el cineasta mexicano señaló en su discurso: «ruego por que podamos encontrar y tener el gobierno que merecemos (en México)«.
El «Negro» Iñárritu se hizo de tres estatuillas por su obra «Birdman», incluyendo mejor guión, mejor cinta y mejor director en la 87 entrega de los premio de la academia.
