México.- El gobierno de Italia negocia con la ONU y la Unión Europea (UE) una autorización parahundir, antes que partan de Libia, los barcos que utilizan traficantes para trasladar migrantes a Europa, reveló hoy el ministro italiano del Interior, Angelino Alfano.
Al participar en un programa televisivo de debate, Alfano dijo que “el objetivo es hundir los barcos de los traficantes antes de que partan”
El ministro recalcó que el pedido italiano es claro: “realizar acciones precisas” contra Libia y “contra los traficantes que son los nuevos esclavistas del siglo XXI”.
“Hundir las barcazas significa cortar la más macabra agencia de viajes de la historia”, declaró Alfano, quien precisó que “ir ahí con nuestras naves sin autorización sería una declaración de guerra, por esto se lleva a cabo una negociación con la ONU y con la UE”.
Además, reiteró la propuesta de crear campamentos de refugiados en los países al sur del Mediterráneo a fin de realizar allí las revisiones y controles que permitan establecer quiénes tienen derecho al asilo, para después distribuirlos en las 28 naciones de la UE.
La Guardia Costera italiana informó este martes que, alrededor de las 19:00 horas locales, fueron rescatados 112 inmigrantes a bordo de una balsa a la deriva en aguas libias, la cual fue detectada por un helicóptero militar que patrullaba la zona.
