Miss USA 2015 se llevó a cabo la noche del domingo en Baton Rouge River Center en Louisiana y estuvo lleno de sorpresas.
A pesar de los comentarios de Donald Trump, ocho latinas participaron en el certamen.
Uno de los momentos más sonados y controversiales de la noche fue cuando las 5 finalistas contestaron a las preguntas de los jueces.
Dos de las finalistas, quienes también representan a la comunidad latina, Anea Garcia, Miss Rhode Island, y Brittany McGowan, Miss Nevada, tuvieron dificultades al responder sus respectivas preguntas.
“Recientemente, el comediante Jerry Seinfeld habló en contra de la rectitud política de nuestra cultura. ¿Crees que ser políticamente correcto está afectando o ayudando a nuestro país, y por qué?”, preguntó Tara Corner, miembro del jurado, a Anea Garcia.
La candidata respondió que cree que es un balance de las dos cosas. Pero, en seguida se disculpó y pidió que repitan la pregunta.
Necesitamos a las personas, especialmente a los políticos, que nos recuerden cuándo debemos hacer lo correcto y cuándo hacer lo incorrecto.
Aunque Garcia no supo cómo responder a la pregunta, la candidata no pudo terminar su respuesta ya que se le terminó el tiempo.
“¿Qué harías para mejorar las relaciones raciales en los Estados Unidos?”, preguntó Crystle Stewart a Brittany McGowan.
McGowan empezó a responder la pregunta pero los nervios no dejaron que pueda terminar. En seguida, la candidata continuó y dijo: “Tenemos que aceptarnos más los unos a los otros y unirnos todos”.
McGowan, Miss Nevada, quedó en cuarto lugar y Garcia, Miss Rhode Island, quedó en tercer lugar.
