Una presentadora de noticias renunció a su puesto de trabajo tras ser acusada de varios robos.
Sabrina Rodríguez, del canal de noticias Sacramento FOX40 (afiliado de FOX), ha sido acusada por la policía de supuestamente colaborar en robar varios productos de la tienda de lujo Coach con su novio por un valor que supera 2,500 dólares.
Los robos se llevaron a cabo en marzo del año pasado, pero se presentaron cargos la semana pasada cuando los trabajadores de la tienda reconocieron a Rodríguez durante una transmisión de noticias.
El martes, la presentadora escribió en su cuenta de Facebook: «Me duele en el corazón, pero he decidido renunciar a mi empleo en FOX40. Dada la atención mediática levantada en los últimos días, creo que es la mejor decisión que puedo tomar»,
Rodríguez, ganadora de dos premios Emmy, enfrenta cargos de hurto mayor y de robo en segundo grado. Ella fue puesta en libertad después de pagar una fianza de 10,000 dólares.
«Renunciar no ha sido una decisión fácil de tomar, pero es la única que me permitirá centrarme en mi caso y restablecer mi buen nombre», agregó.
