CIUDAD DE MÉXICO.- Todo indica, de acuerdo con los primeros reportes, que el luchador profesional Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, quien murió después de una lucha en Tijuana, Baja California, pudo haber sufrido una lesión en las cervicales.
Un traumatismo cervical es una lesión en la región de la columna cervical por una fuerte y repentina flexión y extensión de la cabeza. En un traumatismo cervical suelen dañarse solamente tejidos musculares y conjuntivos, aunque puede ir acompañada de lesiones de articulaciones y fracturas óseas.
El término traumatismo cervical se emplea para el movimiento de la cabeza en un accidente y no para un cuadro de enfermedad determinado. Accidentes de coches o lesiones deportivas suelen ser las causas típicas, que pueden llevar a que en poco tiempo la columna cervical se flexione y a continuación se sobreestire. Puede tener diferentes consecuencias.
Los pronósticos son diversos. En muchos casos, el traumatismo cervical desaparece solo al cabo de unos días o semanas. Si no hay lesiones graves, es importante volver a la actividad con cuidado y no adoptar posturas forzadas.
Posibles causas
Una que no se ha mencionado mucho es que pudo haberse lesionado al golpearse con las cuerdas. Recordemos que están hechas de acero y en algunos rings la tensión puede ser mucha y un golpe ahí puede dañarte severamente
Otra probable causa es que él ya tenía lesionadas las cervicales y seguía luchando así.
Tras el fallecimiento de Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, la procuraduría estatal informó que la causa de la muerte fue un traumatismo al cuello y fractura cervical.
Cuando el Hijo del Perro Aguayo se recarga en las cuerdas ya estaba inconsciente, no tenía coordinación, no respondía a estímulos verbales, no tenía los ojos abiertos; se ve como si la garganta estuviera apoyada en las cuerdas.
