NUEVA YORK, N.Y., abr. 15 (UPI) — La Major League Soccer (MLS) anunció este miércoles que el cuadro inglés Tottenham Hotspur será el visitante en el Juego de las Estrellas de la liga de la temporada 2015.
El equipo londinense, que se mantiene en la lucha por entrar en la zona de torneos europeos en la actual temporada de la Liga Premier, se enfrentará al equipo de todos estrellas de la liga norteamericana en el ya tradicional encuentro de verano, que este año se disputará en el Dick’s Sporting Goods Park en las afueras de Denver, Colorado el 29 de julio.

Disfrutamos tres duros compromisos el verano pasado en América del Norte y la calidad del fútbol en la MLS continúa creciendo año tras año», dijo en un comunicado el técnico del Tottenham Hotspur, el argentino Mauricio Pochettino.
En 2014 el equipo de las estrellas de la MLS superó 2-1 al Bayern Múnich. El Juego de Estrellas mide a los mejores de la liga norteamericana con cuadros de renombre europeo desde 2005, cuando el rival fue el Fulham. Desde entonces, Chelsea, West Ham, Everton, Manchester United, Celtic de Glasgow y Roma han sido los invitados especiales, además del cuadro alemán.
El joven estadounidense DeAndre Yedlin forma parte del Tottenham Hotspur, y durante el pasado fin de semana hizo su debut con el equipo principal. También en la nómina está el experimentado guardameta Brad Friedel.
