Pekín.- El sismo de 6.5 grados Richter que se registró hoy en la región china de Xinjiang dejó un saldo de tres muertos y al menos 20 heridos, de acuerdo con reportes preliminares, informó el Diario del Pueblo.
El terremoto se sintió con gran intensidad y duró cerca de un minuto, según declaró a la agencia oficial Xinhua un habitante de la zona.
Tras el sismo, las autoridades chinas declararon el segundo nivel de alerta.
Xinjiang, como gran parte del interior de China, es una región de intensa actividad sísmica que es sacudida esporádicamente por seísmos de intensidad media.
