México.- El senador texano Ted Cruz de ha convertido oficialmente en el primer candidato a la presidencia de su país, al anunciar sus intenciones de competir por la nominación del Partido Republicano a dicho cargo.
“Estoy compitiendo para presidente y espero ganar su apoyo”, dijo Cruz en un mensaje por Twitter que incluye un video de 30 segundos de duración.
Más tarde, se prevé que aparezca este lunes en la Universidad Libertad de Virginia, el centro universitario cristiano más grande del mundo, donde se estima hará una declaración en persona.
Cruz, nacido en la provincia de Alberta (Canadá) de padre cubano-estadounidense, tendrá que enfrentarse a aproximadamente una docena de republicanos de alto perfil que se espera que se postulen para competir por la casa blanca.
