DENVER – El safety de los Denver Broncos T.J. Ward compareció en la corte el viernes luego de que el Departamento de Policía de Denver haya emitido una orden de arresto contra el jugador el jueves.
Ward tenía una orden de arresto en su nombre en conexión con un altercado en un club de striptease en Denver, informaron las autoridades. El jugador enfrenta cargos por un delito menor de asalto.
La corte decidió darle la oportunidad a Ward a que se presente en la corte y embez de la cárcel.
Documentos judiciales indican que el incidente ocurrió el 10 de mayo en el club PT’s All Nude Centerfold Show Club. Ward está acusado de arrojar un objeto a una empleada del club luego de que ella haya confrontado al jugador por llevar su propia bebida alcohólica al lugar, de acuerdo a una investigación de 9News.
La policía dijo que investigó el caso durante más de una semana antes de emitir la orden de arresto.
La organización de los Denver Broncos, dijo el jueves por la tarde que estaba al tanto del caso y dijo que «seguirá de cerca todos los hechos».
Ward, firmó un acuerdo de 23 millones de dólares (14 millones de dólares garantizados) con los Broncos en marzo. Previamente Ward era jugador de los Browns de Cleveland.
