CHARLOTTE, Carolina del Norte, EE.UU. (AP) — Misioneros de una organización que prestó ayuda a enfermos de ébola en África que regresen a Estados Unidos serán puestos en cuarentena y supervisados, informaron autoridades de salud.
El Departamento de salud y Servicios Humanos de Carolina del Norte informó que la cuarentena durará al menos tres semanas dado que los misioneros estuvieron en contacto con personas infectadas con el virus del ébola.
Los misioneros trabajan para la organización humanitaria SIM USA, con sede en Charlotte. EL grupo señaló que ninguno de ellos está contagiado o ha mostrado síntomas de la enfermedad pero estuvieron de acuerdo con autoridades de salud en el sentido de que todos deben ser tan cuidadosos como sea posible.
El grupo no ha informado cuántos misioneros estuvieron en Liberia o cuando regresarán para proteger la privacidad de sus familias.
La trabajadora humanitaria Nancy Writebol, de SIM USA, está internada en un hospital de Atlanta luego de contagiarse de ébola en Liberia.
