McKINNEY, Texas, EEUU (AP) — Un policía de Dallas fue suspendido después de que un video lo exhibiera tratando de someter a una niña de 14 años de edad vestida con un bikini empujándola y tirándola al suelo afuera de una piscina y apuntando su arma a otros adolescentes.
El jefe de policía de McKinney, Texas, Greg Conley, dijo en conferencia de prensa el domingo que el incidente comenzó cuando los agentes respondieron el viernes a un reporte de perturbación del orden público porque un grupo de jóvenes estaba en una piscina del vecindario. Las autoridades informaron que los jóvenes no viven en la zona ni tenían permiso para estar allí.
Cuando los agentes llegaron, los vecinos y el personal de vigilancia privada señalaron a los jóvenes, quienes estaban «peleando y negándose a irse», dijo Conley.
Cuando los agentes dispersaron a la multitud, la niña de 14 años niña fue «detenida momentáneamente» por un oficial, dijo Conley, quien no describió por qué fue detenida.
En el video se ve al policía tirando a la jovencita al piso y luego usando sus rodillas para mantenerla sometida bocabajo. También se puede ver que apunta su arma a otros adolescentes y maldiciendo.
El comunicado de la policía señala que el video «ha presentado cuestiones que se están investigando».
Por el momento no se dio a conocer el nombre el agente y Conley no supo decir cuánto tiempo lleva en la fuerza.
Un hombre fue arrestado por interferir con los deberes de los agentes y evadir el arresto, detalló Conley. Todos los demás fueron liberados.
El alcalde de McKinney, Brian Loughmiller, dijo en una declaración escrita que está «perturbado y preocupado por el incidente y las acciones que se muestran en el video» e hizo un llamado para que se investigue rápidamente.
